The booking guarantee fee

RentalHalo charges a small booking fee when you reserve online. The fee is 10% of the quoted rental value, and a currency minimum applies only when 10% would be lower. The full rental amount is paid directly to the rental business. The booking shows the exact fee before you open secure checkout.

Two separate amounts

For a rental value of $100, the percentage amount is $10. The configured currency minimum applies only when it is higher. You pay the exact Booking Guarantee shown online to RentalHalo and still owe the rental business the full $100 separately. This is an illustrative example; your booking uses the business’s currency and its quoted rates, discounts, delivery and selected add-ons.

The fee is paid to RentalHalo. It is not automatically transferred to the rental business, is not deducted from the rental amount, and is not the operator’s security deposit.

What a confirmed booking means

RentalHalo checks availability, holds inventory during checkout, and confirms the reservation when payment has been verified. The business manages the rental and handover under its own policies. The word “guarantee” does not promise insurance, damage cover, compensation or a replacement vehicle.

If your booking changes

An operator can amend eligible reservations and calculate a revised rental value. The original guarantee-fee transaction is retained. RentalHalo shows the revised Booking Guarantee under the terms saved with the original reservation, but does not automatically collect or return the difference. Agree the revised rental amount directly with the business.

If you cancel or need a refund

Cancelling a reservation does not automatically refund the fee. Refunds require a review and a separate payment action by RentalHalo. Where a refund is processed through Stripe, the reservation records the refunded amount. Eligibility depends on the reason and timing described in the cancellation and refund policy. Contact support@rentalhalo.com if the business cannot provide the booked vehicle or if a fee payment is duplicated or incorrect.

Test reservations

Reservations marked as tests use test payments and do not arrange a real vehicle rental. A website preview cannot accept payments.
